Meet the Staff!
Meg has possessed an extreme passion for music since a very young age. When she was 3 years old, she fell in love with Taylor Swift, and nothing was ever the same since that day. As she grew up, her interest in the musical world began to expand, and she became curious about the inner workings of it all. At 14 years of age, she began to make a name for herself within the music industry when she launched her first music blog. She immediately faced a positive response from peers, and within the first week, she scored an interview with an artist whom she now considers a friend and tutor in the industry. In that exact moment, she knew that this was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.
She soon realized that the blog wasn’t enough for her. Meg wanted to get involved in more aspects of the music industry so she could have a taste for everything. In 2018, she began working as an interviewer and photographer for multiple online magazines. These publications led her to new friends, photo passes, and interviews with huge names that she never would have dreamed of reaching. During this time, she also grew interested in the worlds of publicity, social media management, and public relations.
As grateful as she is for the experiences she has been granted from publications thus far, Meg has always felt most comfortable when she has a sense of control, which is where the idea for Kinda Cool sparked from. When Meg reached out to a friend about being a graphic designer for her team, the pair discovered that they worked well together and had a similar view for the future of the magazine, and the seemingly outrageous idea quickly became a reality. Carrying everything she already knew about the musical world into the magazine and constantly learning and growing from her surroundings, she is truly putting her all into this project and believes that it is her most honest work to date. There is no doubt that Meg’s passion shines through in everything she does, and she can’t wait to show just what she can do on Kinda Cool.

Rebekah is a graphic designer and photographer based out of Detroit, Michigan. After attending concerts since age 4 and then becoming more interested in the behind-the-scenes area of the music industry throughout her teenage years, it’s impossible to imagine her life without music. As a teenager, she read popular alternative music magazines and dreamed of one day being able to design one herself. Having the ability to combine her love for both music and design has always been a huge goal of hers. In the early 2010’s, she began creating art inspired by her favorite musicians. Now and since 2017, she has contributed photography and design work to various other publications. Rebekah reinforced her love for design when she worked on her high school’s newspaper, and more recently, she graduated college with degrees in graphic design and photography. She currently works full time as a photographer for a real estate company in downtown Detroit. Outside of work, Rebekah enjoys watching YouTube videos, playing video games, exploring new places, and of course, attending concerts as a fan.
Rebekah is excited to continue working with artists she is passionate about and bringing their stories to life with the help of Meg and Mary. Along with the rest of the Kinda Cool team, she is eager to grow and build a community.

From a young age, Mary has always been surrounded and fascinated by music. She incorporated music into her life in various forms, such as taking part in her school’s choir, playing piano and violin, and writing songs. Entering high school, she joined her school’s newspaper, where she learned the basics of journalism. From conducting interviews to using Photoshop, she quickly found herself drawn to subjects outside of the realm of her school’s newspaper.
In her junior year, she joined her first magazine. Instantly, she found herself diving into the world of music journalism, trying her best to contribute in any way possible. She also discovered that she constantly found herself picking out errors in the magazine’s articles and reviews and offered help as an editor. Editing was a new field for her to explore, yet she found herself so absorbed in fixing small mistakes, correcting misused words, and suggesting new ways to enhance the writing that she was promoted to copy editor. A few months after joining, she was given the opportunity to talk to her favorite band, and she realized it finally all came together. She finally found a place to connect her love of music with her passion for journalism. Mary is extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work so closely with so many supportive and creative people in the music industry, from publicity representatives and photographers to tour managers and even artists themselves.
Through the magazine, Mary became friends with Meg, as both share a similar interest in music journalism and bonded over their experiences. As a result, when Meg invited Mary to join her new magazine, Mary was thrilled to receive the offer and quickly jumped to join the team. Mary is honored to get to be a part of Kinda Cool’s team and see the small project grow so rapidly. As copy editor, she can’t wait to get to work with Meg and Sophie to bring their ideas to life.
