As June quickly approaches, festival season is finally upon us, and New York’s annual Governors Ball Festival is set to take place June 9-11 in Flushing Meadows Park. After making its debut in 2011, the festival has grown to a three-day, multi-stage event, hosting a multitude of artists and organizations and earning the title of New York City’s “premier outdoor pop event” by The New York Times. This year’s lineup features over 60 artists and 50 food vendors, and tickets are still available on the GovBall website. Continue reading to learn more about what to expect from the festival!

Tickets:

If you’re interested in attending, tickets are still available on the Governors Ball website. There are several different types of tickets that offer various perks, including access to different restrooms and bars, as well as exclusive access to your favorite artists’ sets. To purchase tickets, visit the Governors Ball website now.

Artists:

Starting off the weekend strong, Friday’s lineup features appearances from several rising artists, such as pop collective MICHELLE, indie pop artist Remi Wolf, and genre-bending 070 Shake. Hip hop and rap fanatics are sure to love Friday’s lineup, as Saba, Joey Bada$$, Metro Boomin, and Lil Uzi Vert are all set to appear. One of the highly-anticipated performances of the weekend will come from rising star Ice Spice, and we can’t wait to see what surprises she’ll bring to her set. The night is topped off by a performance by the fabulous Lizzo, and the Grammy winner is sure to bust out her dance moves (and potentially even her flute) to play her notable hits, ranging from 2016 single “Good as Hell” and 2022’s “About Damn Time.”

Saturday is set to be another day of fun, as British rock band The Amazons will take the GovBallNYC stage at noon while indie pop artist Zolita hits the GoPuff stage at 12:15 that afternoon. Pop superstar Rina Sawayama takes the stage at 4:45, and we’re already so excited to hear her play songs from her 2022 release, Hold the Girl. For those TikTok enthusiasts, Suki Waterhouse will be performing a few of her songs, including viral hit “Good Looking,” that afternoon on the GovBall stage, and Oliver Tree will remind us that “life goes on” with his hour-long performance that evening on the GoPuff stage. Keep up your energy as Kpop group aespa take on the GovBall stage at 6:30 that evening, followed by EDM duo ODESZA for the ravers in the crowd. On the GoPuff stage, Lil Baby will be headlining the Saturday night lineup, playing a ton of his hit singles and setting festivalgoers up for the final day of GovBall.

To finish out the weekend, Sunday’s lineup is as star-studded as ever. Featuring performances from ella jane, Coast Contra, and PinkPantheress, there’s something for everyone throughout Sunday’s sets. Always the exciting performer, Lil Nas X will be headlining the GoPuff stage, and we can’t wait to “kick it” with the award-winning singer that night. The weekend comes to a close with a set from the iconic Kendrick Lamar, whose recent shows have featured numerous songs from several of his albums, including 2022’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. Fingers crossed he plays his recent remix of Beyoncé’s “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM!”
