Greyson Chance Steps Into New Era With a Smash

          Entering the music industry at the age of ten by a cover of Lady Gaga’s hit “Paparazzi,” the singer from Oklahoma has been releasing music since he was a teenager. From his debut album Hold On ‘til the Night (released in 2011), and his sophomore project portraits (released in 2019), it’s pretty clear that Greyson Chance is capable of testing new ideas out and being successful with the outcome. 

          Just last week, the pop artist put out his first single of the year, which has come to be known as the sophomore single from his newest era, entitled “Dancing Next To Me.” Fans of Chance were so excited to hear what his new sound would be like after the release of the previous song “Boots.” They were later not surprised that he gifted them with a danceable tune, especially judging by the title of the single. 

          “Dancing Next To Me” has an upbeat rhythm throughout the whole song, along with a great guitar riff played in the chorus. This is all topped with his recognizable riffs and harmonies. Although I can’t say for certain what the song is about, I could imagine it’s based off of a connection between someone at a party, or just a romantic connection between a person in general. What I could say with certainty though, is that Greyson Chance has granted all of us with yet another timeless bop.
