DE’WAYNE is an alternative rock artist from Houston, Texas, who has been making music since 2016. The talented singer has been through many musical eras, starting with upbeat and heavy hip hop, then moving to alternative rock and pop. Now, DE’WAYNE is channeling the greats like Lenny Kravitz and Prince in his new synth-rock influenced era. Off the heels of his recent singles “highway robbery” and “biological,” the performer is continuing to push the boundaries of genre with his new single “june.”

DE’WAYNE will be releasing his new album JUNE on July 30th, describing it as “bold and honest.” He notes that it touches on “love, transformation, and power through vulnerability.” The single has a similar aura to the last two releases with funky synths and powerful rock breakdowns, akin to the classic rock idols from the ‘70s and ‘80s. He is passionate and fiery on “june,” with fierce and loud vocals, upbeat guitar licks, and soothing, catchy harmonies.

The track tells the story of him and June. The pair go wild throughout the town, drinking, stopping in 7/11s, getting flashed by the paparazzi, and partying like it is their last night on Earth. He keeps the same funky and groovy synths throughout but never lets the listener get too comfortable as he brings heavier rock and raw vocals to the breakdown. By having these different vibes throughout the song, DE’WAYNE showcases his lavish personality and keeps the listener on the edge of their feet.

DE’WAYNE's mission is to show people we shouldn’t live in boxes, and neither should our music. He shows this through every release he does, growing stronger with each record. As he sings in the new single “june,” everyone wants to know who DE’WAYNE is, and he is telling them through this spunky track.
