Marshmello, YUNGBLUD, and blackbear Leave Us “Tongue Tied” Over New Single

          YUNGBLUD sure has been an artist to watch this year — collaborating with everyone from Machine Gun Kelly to Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons. In his latest single, “Tongue Tied,” he teams up with rapper blackbear and EDM artist Marshmello to create a supertrack. The track itself feels very YUNGBLUD-esque, even though Marshmello is the first listed artist. There are many standout lyrics from the song, including “I’m trapped outside / Inside my mind” and “You lost me at hello.” YUNGBLUD and blackbear make quite the lyrical team, perfectly matching each other’s energy while Marshmello provides an edgy yet electric beat behind the chorus. If you’re looking for a charged track reminiscent of an anthem for the youth, then look no further.

          The song and official music video go hand in hand with one another, furthering the message even more. Set in a dystopian world, YUNGBLUD portrays a figurehead for the outspoken teens fighting against Silencers, a group that vows to keep the rebels quiet. Protecting the silenced, blackbear plays a member of the secret resistance. Lastly, Marshmello is the leader and the voice of the people. The video, directed by Christian Breslauer, stars Joey King (The Act) and perfectly embodies the song. “Tongue Tied” is an anthem for those who refuse to stay silent when faced with hardships. YUNGBLUD continues to produce fantastic tracks and remains true to his message: don’t let anyone change you.
