Taylor Swift: a Cool Chick

If you’re anything like me, the moment Taylor Swift cryptically changes all of her social media icons and bios all at once, you know that when she comes back, it’s going to be better than ever.

“ME!,” the first single from Swift’s (currently untitled) seventh album, is possibly the most fun collaboration anyone could have ever dreamt of. Featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco, the song is three minutes and thirteen (of course) seconds of musical euphoria, with a steady drumbeat throughout the song perfectly complementing Swift and Urie’s voices together.

A self-described anthem about celebrating and owning your individuality, “ME!” is a complete turnaround from Swift’s last lead single, the dark and daring “Look What You Made Me Do.” Not many artists can smoothly switch sounds with every new album, but Swift has done it in the past as well, and proves that she’s still got it with the release of “ME!.” With herself and Urie loudly declaring that ‘spelling is fun,’ it is a stark contrast to Swift revealing that ‘the old Taylor is dead’ in 2017.

I can only imagine what else Swift has up her sleeve for her seventh LP, but I do know one thing: I’m ready for it.

“ME!” is available on all major streaming services and iTunes now.
