A Fresh New Album from Seaway

Canadian pop punks extraordinaires Seaway dropped their new album Fresh Produce on April 19th and gave fans a listen at some rarities, as well as new reimagined versions of some of their well-known songs. The album displays an early taste of summer in the spring, and allows fans to prepare for what to expect on the upcoming Fresh Produce Tour.

Opening the album with a new song titled “Pleasures,” the upbeat track is reminiscent of their previous album, Vacation. The fun, dancy song allows fans to let loose all of their worries. The album then goes into “Blur,” another previously unheard track which the band only just released last year. With new versions of “Something Wonderful,” “40 Over,” and “Lula on the Beach,” as well as a new mashup of two older songs titled “Shy Guys/Slam,” fans are able to find a new love of their favorite songs. The album also features some covers of famous songs that inspire the band, such as “Just What I Needed” by The Cars, “Hand in My Pocket” by Alanis Morissette, and “Closer” by The Chainsmokers (a cover that was featured in the collective album Punk Goes Pop vol. 7). Seaway also gave a closer look at their All in My Head EP by re-releasing all four songs for old fans to reminisce upon how far the band has come and how far they will go.

With the release of this album, Seaway provides a gateway album, connecting 2017’s Vacation and whatever is next to come. With new songs, covers, and reimagined versions of some fan favorites, Seaway is setting an example for more bands in the alternative scene to follow. Seaway will be on the Fresh Produce Tour across America in April and May playing these new tracks alongside Free Throw, Heart Attack Man, and Young Culture!
