Mad for Vince Staples
As excited Vince Staples fans arrived to the Observatory North Park, you could overhear their ecstatic conversations about him and his music. Long Beach native Vince Staples was set to have a show in San Diego, California on April 2nd for his headlining tour entitled Smile, You’re on Camera. Opening for Vince Staples were Channel Tres and Buddy, who both had the job of hyping up the already enthusiastic fans. The former, an artist from Compton, California, sang five songs, including a sneak peek of his upcoming single. Channel Tres and his backup dancers were successfully able to get the crowd prepared to see Buddy, the second opener, perform.
A large portion of the crowd joined Buddy in singing in dancing during his set, preparing for the headliner, Vince Staples, who would come up next. He performed songs off his latest album, Harlen and Alondra, ending his set with his song “Trippin’,” which features Khalid. Once his set concluded, the main event was about to begin, and everyone was buzzing with energy!
Vince Staples took the stage by storm! The crowd went wild from the moment his set began, as he performed “Feels Like Summer” off of his latest album, FM. Anyone in the room could feel how high the crowd’s energy was during his performance, as if it wasn’t predictable enough from the endless anticipation throughout the night. As he sang his most popular song, “Norf Norf,” the whole venue was shaking! Vince Staples definitely proved that he is a natural born performer. Everyone should experience a show of his soon, as he truly knows how to get a crowd going!
