On January 3rd, 2020, new music duo Jupiter Winter released their single “Come Back,” and it is a huge hit within their audience so far! The power group — made up of Lelia Broussard and Royce Whittaker — has a very unique sound, and it serves its purpose of hooking the listener into their songs and leaving them wanting more. The combination of the synthesized sounds, the drums, and the guitar together in “Come Back” make it easy to listen to while also having enough audible intricate details to make it stand out from other music in similar genres so that it doesn’t get boring and repetitive.
The song is sung in a way that gives it a sense of both sass and confidence. In the verses especially, Broussard’s voice has an edge of tone that goes very well with the subject matter of the song. It is definitely a very positive take on the situation of a significant other leaving, because the duo could have easily written a stereotypical sad and self-pitying song about a breakup, but instead, the lyrics Broussard sings have a very self-empowering notion to them; instead of self-pity, the lyrics are more pitying the significant other who left, specifically in the lyrics “You're never gonna find another love like me.”
Jupiter Winter have played a few of their own shows, and they also gained traction when they opened for Marianas Trench in Victoria, BC on 2017’s Last Crusade tour for the duo’s second ever performance, following their first a few weeks prior in January. The group has one show planned for 2020 so far on February 4th in Los Angeles, CA, and for the rest of the fans who are not able to make it out to that show, don’t worry! Musicians that are able to attract listeners from all over the spectrum of preferred genres of music are the musicians that are guaranteed to make it big in the business, and that’s exactly what Jupiter Winter are doing with “Come Back.” The band is just getting started and their future looks very promising, so it is only a matter of time before they’re out on tour and hopefully headlining shows of their own soon!
